Transportation

Following the signs, take the highway towards Funchal (10 -15 minutes) till you get to the Sao Martinho exit. Exit here and turn left till you get to a roundabout. Once at the roundabout, exit at Estrada Monumental (2nd exit). Follow this highway till you get to a second roundabout and take the 1st exit on the right. You must follow this highway till you get to a 3rd roundabout. Here turn at the 1st right exit. Follow this highway till you get to the major highway Estrada Monumental. In this place you will see in facade of you the Madeira Palacio Hotel (which is currently being renovated). Turn left and then turn on your 1st right (following the sign for the Golden Residence Hotel).
