Transportation

The preferred airport for Hotel Sao Jose is Lisbon (LIS-Portela) - 120 kilometers. Fatima by TrainIt is possible to get to Fatima by train, but note that the closest railway station to Fatima is Caxarias, approximately 10km outside of city. Twelve trains run daily from Lisbon to Caxarias; the trip takes two. five hours and costs five. 70 one way. 7 buses run between Caxarias and Fatima per day; a one-way ticket costs two. It's quicker and easier to travel the entire way by bus. Fatima by BusTravelling from Lisbon by bus, go to the central bus station in Sete-Rios (Praa Marechal Humberto Delgado, Rua das Laranjeiras). You are able to either take a cab to the station or take the Metro to the Jardin Zoologico stop - the bus station is just outside. Buy a ticket at a ticket office in the station. Buses leave for Fatima about hourly from 8am to 8pm (see online schedule; Portuguese only). The bus trip costs approximately ten every way, takes approximately 90 mins and arrives at the foot of the shrine. From Batalha, approximately 3 buses a day go to Fatima, which take fourty minutes and cost four one-way. Note that on bus schedules Fatima is often listed as Cova da Iria, which able to lead to confusion. Fatima by CarBy auto from Lisbon airport, it takes approximately 1 hour 15 min to reach Fatima.
