Mahekal Beach Resort is a legendary resort destination, formerly Shangri-La Caribe, situated on 800 feet of white sand seaside in the center of vibrant Playa del Carmen. Mahekal's coast countryside idea proposes 121 thatched roof, palapa-style villas within steps of the notable 5th Avenue.

The Resort features oversized suites, all with ceiling fans and air conditioning, situated in either individual villas or individual apartments in two-unit or three-unit casitas and brings to mind a quaint Mayan countryside.

In keeping with our fashion, our apartments do not propose televisions, radios or telephones and feature genuine, brightly colored, Mexican tile bathrooms, a personal balcony with hammocks for siestas and star gazing, and locally crafted Mexican forest furniture in the open-air seating district to receive pleasure from our magic sanctuary.

Mahekal Beach Resort features 2 swimming pools, one with a heated Jacuzzi; 2 bars; a dive boutique and water sports center; and 2 open-air restaurants: La Loma and Aventura, which is ocean facade and proposes the best vistas of Playa del Carmen.

Resort suite rates comprise breakfast and dinner, or snack under a Modified American Plan (MAP); alcohol and some beverages are supplementary. Meals are catered in our of our 2 thatched-roof restaurants: Aventura Restaurant and Bar or La Loma Restaurant. Aventura proposes breakfast and snack, whilst La Loma is open only for dinner.
