Hotel Locanda Canal Venice

General Information

The Locanda Canal is not big hotel in the very heart of Venice. Housed in a XIII century building overlooking the Rio del Remedio, it's in a tranquil place a small walking distance from the St Mark Square. It's 2 minutes from the Riva degli Schiavoni and right next to the Querini Stampalia Gallery in the Santa Maria Formosa Square. The Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal are 3 min stroll. It's also within simple distance of the Fondamente Nuove, from which there are frequent boats to Murano, Burano and Torcello.

Transportation

From the airport Marco Polo of VeniceTake the water bus Alilaguna (red line) till S. Zaccaria (60 minutes), go along the Calle delle Rasse into the Campo San Filippo e Giacomo. Cross the Campo at its huge end and continue along the Calle della Chiesa. Follow the yellow signs to Querini Stampalia. Turn left into the Campo San Giovanni Novo and turn right under the covered passage into the Fondamenta del Remedio: the canal will be on your right, the Locanda Canal direct ahead. From parking (Piazzale Roma) or the railroad stationWe suggest you to take the vaporetto Actv number 85 to san Zaccaria (one stop past St Mark's Square). Go along the Calle delle Rasse into the Campo San Filippo e Giacomo. Cross the Campo at its commodious end and continue along the Calle della Chiesa. Follow the yellow signs to Querini Stampalia. Turn left into the Campo San Giovanni Novo and turn right under the covered passage into the Fondamenta del Remedio: the canal will be on your right, the Locanda Canal direct ahead. From the St Mark's SquareGo under the Torre dell'Orologio (clock tower) and turn right along the Calle Larga S.Marco. turn left at the end and immediately turn right into the CAlle del REmedio which opens into the Fondamenta of the same name:
