General Information

In the very heart of Stresa, the contemporary Hotel La Palma is embedded in flower filled terraces on the shore of Lake Maggiore, enjoying vistas of the Borromean islands. The air- conditioned rooms for guests have a classic fashion decoration with plush carpets and richly patterned soft furniture and accessories in deep scarlet and bold ochre shades. All apartments open out onto gardens, the more excellent rooms with vistas over the lake and islands. All are equiped with satellite TV, minibars and safes. Located right on the lake, the open-air swimming pool is encircled by a paved verandah where customers able to soak in the Italian sunshine whilst taking in vistas across the water to the Borromean islands. Workouts are supplemented by island panoramas from the gymnasium on the sixth floor, where there is also a sauna, jetted tub and sun verandah. Heavy drapes, crisp white desk linen and classic furniture create a exquisite ambiance in the restaurant, which serves conventional Italian fare alongside popular dishes and faces the inn park, whilst scarlet velvet sofas, plush carpets and soft up lighting set the tone in the air-conditioned hall brasserie.

The facade table is open round the clock and on place car park is independent. Stresa is approximately 50 kilometres from central Milan and straight trains run to the town from the city's station, which is directly 300 meters from the guesthouse. Boats run to the beautiful Borromean islands, about 3 kilometres away and the cottage, zoo and important botanical terraces at Villa Pallavicino are only 1 kilometre from the inn. The nearest airport is Milan Malpensa, which is 45 kilometres and approximately a 45-minute trip from Stresa. A shuttle bus facilities runs between the airport and Stresa.
