Gabbiano Hotel Pulsano

General Information

The Gabbiano Hotel is located in Puglia, on the Ionio beach, in Marina di Pulsano (Ta). The inn features 88 suites, restaurants, dining room, brasserie, two conference rooms, two swimming pools, tennissoccerbasketball courts, a personal coast on summer months period, an inner parking. The Gabbiano Hotel takes its name from the region frequentation, till 15 years ago, of different species of water birds, in unique sea gulls. In fact it seems that the owner of a store which was already situated in the region, before that the present complex was made, had chosen its name because he had been inspired by a sea gulls' flight. The complex is situated in a beach line amongst the majority fair beaches of Salento beach (Marina of Pulsano), located as a guard of a huge whirlpool repaired from winds'attack even whether it directly overlooks Jonio sea. The spot where it rises is called La Fontana. This name is referred to the subway source, regularly flowing on the surface, trowing the waters toward the lower strait, which, on its way, threw them toward sea. Documents of the 2nd part of the eighteenth century, show the presence of the Canale della Fontana, where till not much time ago, water was directed and to the same spot, cows belonging to Monica race were taken to drink, from the close to pastures. A kind of breeding which specially required lively waters and healthy air; just as the air you quiet today able to breath, in the hot August nights, in the region kissed by the fresh sea breezes.
