General Information

This farmhouse is located three kilometres from Pomarance in the vivid mountains of central Tuscany. This complex is embedded in an exquisite situation - close to the sea (Cecina 40kms), and at the foot of the historic cities of Volterra (20kms) with its antique Etruscan origins and San Gimignano (50kms), a charming gothic town well known for its towers. The visitor lodging is encircled by 6 hectares of olive trees and consists of 9 rooms in 2 buildings overlooking every other. One building houses seven suites (3 on the 1st floor, three on the ground floor and 1 on 2 floors) and the 2nd building houses 2 rooms (RIBES and UVA) on the 1st floor. The suites are equipped in Tuscan fashion (solid wooden furniture, cast iron beds) and have all been nicely refurbished with wooden beams. They are named after the characteristic fruits of the region: Strawberry tree, Fig, Grape etc.. The swimming pool is splendidly placed (7 x 14 metres. - open 15th May15th Oct. ) with a Roman stairway which affords an amazing panorama of the nearby mountains. Silvia, the owner, lives with her husband in the cottage opposite the 2 visitor houses and enjoys friendly customers, giving advice with considerate hints on restaurants, excursions and visits including where to purchase wonderful local products. Transportation

From the North. Take the highway A12 and exit at Rosignano Marittima; then take SS1 (Aurelia) following direction to Cecina and exit at Cecina North. Take SS68 following direction to Volterra and then to Pomarance; nearly three km after the countryside turn right to Micciano and go direct on for 1 km; you will see the farm on your left. From the South: take the SS1 (Aurelia) and exit at Cecina North; then take the S68 following direction to Volterra and once you reached Saline di Volterra go on towards Pomarance and then as above.
