The Hotel Accademia is situated in an old-time building dating back to the fourteenth century, once the home of Bernardo Cennini, a firstrate goldsmith and sculptor who was born in Florence in 1415 and who worked on the creation of the splendid Saint John's Baptistry. Cennini was one of the artists who worked on the large Baptistry's door and on the Altar, a splendid business of art made totally from silver (400 kilos) in Gothic-Renaissance fashion. Some of the items that Cennini designed are now on shown in the Duomo's Museo dell'Opera. Located in the antique historical midst of Florence, the Accademia Hotel is located in front of the Medicean Chapels, five mins stroll from S. Metres. How to receive here! By auto: Take the 1st exit for Florence off the highway. Follow directions for the Center (Centro - Stazione). Go round the roundabout at Piazza Stazione fand turn into Piazza dell'Unita. Turn into Via del Melarancio and go right to the end. Turn left into Via Faenza. You'll find the inn at number seven. You are able to garden your auto in Via Faenza, in a garage that features an agreement with the guesthouse. It is only 20 m from the guesthouse. By train: Take the left exit from Santa Maria Novella Station (near to the pharmacy) and then turn right. Carry direct on for approximately fifty meters till you get to Largo Alinari. Turn left and carry on for several m. The dirst highway on the right is Via Faenza. By plane: You able to reach the Hotel Accademia from Florence's Amerigo Vespucci Airport by taking a cab. Alternatively, you are able to use the Airport Shuttle bus that links the airport to Santa Maria Novella Station. Take the left exit out of the station (near the pharmacy) and then turn right.
