Agora Hostel Catania

General Information

Agora Hostel is in the center of Catania, directly in facade of antique Roman ruins in the region of the Pescheria (the historical and folklorist fish market) and a short amble from Piazza Duomo (the cathedral) and the central Via Etnea. The hostel is part of the ancient town (the building is from the XIX century) and is the main basis to discover the wealthy artistic, architectural and cultural patrimony. A nice base for daily excursions on Etna the active volcano, Taormina, Siracusa, Noto., Piazza Armerina. The protagonist of the nightlife of Catania with its unparalleled and popular restaurant cocktail lounge, part of which is situated in an metro lava cave where flows the Amenano, the antique river of the town.

Transportation

From the airport: take AMT bus nr. 457 to the center. When the bus enters Catania you'll see the seaport to your right. On the left there will be a piazza (Piazza Borsellino) with lots of buses and a MacDonald on the side. As shortly as the bus goes via the railway bridges and turns onto the principal street, called Via Dusmet, there is a stop where you should receive off. From there, stroll back along that major highway (Via Dusmet). You'll pass a spacious brasserie on the right called Etoile D'or which is directly before the market place district. In facade of you is a little highway (Via Bottino) rising to the right. Take this highway and you'll enter a piazza with a church. The commodious building on the left side of the plaza is the hostel. From the Train Station: take the AMT bus nr. 431N and ask the driver to stop at the brasserie Etoile d'Or. From the brasserie go into the fish market place district and take small st Via Bottino that rises up to the plaza where the hostel is.
