Built in the 1930s, Shikarbadi, as the name suggests was the privy hunting lodge of the Mewar Royal family. Situated on the fringe of Udaipur town it's spread over 250 acres. Shikarbadi lies at the foothills of the Aravali chine. In 1976 this erstwhile hideaway was converted into a hotel. Before that, Shikarbadi was the privy residence of Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar, the 76th custodian of the House of Me war and the contemporary Chairman and Managing Director of the HRH Group of Hotels. Attached to the guesthouse are a deer garden and a wildlife reserve, one of the few prestigious and naturally abundant wildlife reserves in the State of Rajasthan.
