The Machan Tree House Lonavala

General Information

The Machan is a special abode situated in the center of an isolated privately-owned tropical wood in the Western Ghats. It is encircled by 25 acres of lush woodland and hangs over the edge of a precipice. Located a mere 2 and a half hours drive from Bombay (one and a half hours from Pune), this makes for an exceptionally available personal getaway.

The Machan features 3 characteristic bedrooms every equiped with a double bed, 2 full bathrooms and a kitchenette. It features been purposed to conveniently sleep up to six groun-ups.

The Machan is a Nut and Bolt steel structure clad in forest, purposed to withstand earthquakes and wind speeds of up to 170 Kmph. The foundations go down to the hard cliff and the most high point [the crow’s nest] is 85 ft. from the ground. No machines were used in its erection nor were any trees cut or damaged in the process. The building was purposed to be one with nature and was built with that in mind.
