Conveniently situated on the edge of the historical seaside resort countryside of Maleme, Summer Lodge, a lovely, family run holiday accommodation is a peerless sample of conventional Greek architecture. Only five Kms from the very heart of Platanias and 16 Kms west of Hania city, is the best beginning point for the guests requiring a wide range of sandy beaches, water fitness activities, tranquil village strolls, or pleasing visits in archaeological and historical sites. With the tremendous amenity of being no more than 400 m by footpath to the long, silent coast of Maleme, mostly sandy but besides pebbly and several surrounding tavernas in addition to a supermarket and other boutiques, the position couldn't be more convenient and auto hire, is not necessary. Most of the suites have shared balconies or open gardens while others on the 1st floor, that overlook onto the terraces, have a courtyard region and many open-air space in which to unwind in. The easy, conventional interiors are cool and a wall fitted fan in every bedroom adds an additional degree of comfort during the warm summer months days. Transportation

Summer months Lodge is situated 16 kilometers west of Hania city by the ancient costal highway and there is frequent bus facilities to the airports CHQ and HER in addition to to the ports of Hania and Heraklion. Hania city (also spelt as Chania) is the connection point if you come by plane or boat. The bus station is in the heart, where the cab driver or the local bus will take you from the airport or haven. Whether you come to Crete at Hania airport (code CHQ) you are able to either receive the social bus or a cab to Hania city (drive costs approximately 20 ) then the bus to Pirgos Psilonerou (last bus at 23:00). Ask which bus goes to Maleme and buy a ticket before getting on. We are situated between bus stop No. 30 and 31 (2 mins stroll, single ticket costs approximately two ). A cab fare from airport to Summer Lodge costs approximately 40. Whether you come by ferry to Hania (Souda Port) you can reach the local bus (blue colour) to Hania city and then the bus to Pirgos Psilonerou. A cab fare from Souda Bay to Summer Lodge costs approximately 36. From Heraklion port or airport (code HER) you can reach the local bus or a cab to the city center (10 mins drive) then the bus to Hania (single ticket costs approximately 12 EURO, last bus leaves at 21:00). A cab fare from Heraklion to Summer Lodge costs approximately 140. Whether you drive your own auto, take the recent national highway to Kissamos, then the 2nd exit passed Hania. Look for the signs Platanias Maleme. Chq airport: During the summer months season April to October there are more than 30 straight flights daily, connecting Crete with the relaxation of Europe. Additionally whether you travel by means of Athens there are daily ten flights (duration 45 minutes) from ATH airport by www.olympicair.com www.athensairways.com www.skyexpress.gr www.aegeanair.com SOUDA port: There is daily an evening and an overnight ferry from Pireas-Athens (duration 6-9 hours) whilst on holidays and peak season there is further to a daytime one. Perfect option whether you wish to stay more Greek islands. Alternatively you can reach a ferry to Rethymno which is just fifty min drive away.
