Aptera hotel is located on the north-west beach of Crete between the waterside cities of Souda and Kalives. All suites are non smoking and have privy bathrooms with shower, fully furnished cooking corner and air-conditioning. A little reception desk and a cafe are located on the 1st floor. Breakfast and lunches able to be arranged on demand for a little charge. Self-sufficient Wi-Fi is obtainable, a fax and a photocopy machine are also accessible for a little charge. Leaving your lodging and going east, within a minute you get to the 1st signs of the fortifications of the old city to invite you and to give you a little glimpse of the scale and the importance of Ancient Aptera. As short meander (downhill) to the west of the Aptera Hotel, you will find 3 local tavernas and a little mini market place. On certain days in summer time there is live Greek music in the very heart of the countryside where the 3 taverns are, and occasionally a local art exhibition. We able to, organise for a local cab to determine you up from the airportport (Chania or Heraklion) at discount rates. Transportation

From Chania airport take the route to the national highway towards Souda harbor, when you get to Souda take the exit to the left towards Rethymnon and Heraklion. 5 kms after Souda you'll get to a T blend, turn right at that blend and follow the signs to Aptera (former Megala Chorafia). When you get to the very heart of the countryside where the tavernas are, you turn uphill to the left following the signs to the Ancient town of Aptera. Aptera hotel will appear on your left after a minute drive from the very heart of the countryside. From Heraklion airport as you exit the major gate of the airport you drive direct ahead for 500 m and then take the 1st exit to the right to combine the national highway towards Heraklion, Rethymno and Chania to the west. After about an hour and half drive on the national highway you'll get to the exit to Kalami countryside on your right. You visit on the national highway, do not take the exit to Kalami but take the 1st exit to your left at the 1st T combination after Kalami. When you get to the very heart of the countryside where the tavernas are you turn uphill to the left following the signs to the Ancient town of Aptera. Aptera hotel will appear on your left after a minute drive from the very heart of the countryside.
