The Palm Bungalows are situated on the biggest inhabited island in the Whitsundays - Hamilton Island which lies off the east beach of Australia, 16 kilometres from the Queensland continental. Brisbane is 1100 kilometres to the south, whilst Cairns is 600 kilometres to the north. Sydney is less than 2 and a half hours away by plane you are able to fly to Hamilton Island and be ordering a drink by the pool in the time it takes drivers to negotiate the peak-hour traffic through Sydney's suburbs. The ferry journey from Shute Harbour on the continental takes just thirty mins.
